We went on an educational trip to Berlin for a week where we were suppose to visit museums, to know about the city and its background and also other places of our individual interest. Among the list of places like Natural History Museum, Reichstag, Jewish Museum and other tours I was dragged more towards a hotel near Berlin Zoo known as the ZOO Hotel. I had read about it before going there but I always wanted to see it in person as it is somewhat related to my project but more than that the concept of converting a hotel into the ZOO Hotel.

"THE CLASH OF HISTORY AND MODERN AGE."

This is what I saw when I entered the hotel.

Obviously I did not expected a whole ZOO or real animals in the hotel but still I was amazed to see the deep meaningful concept of the hotel. From entrance carpet to the ceiling design it was all covered in this rough, squeaky design to give a sense of like entering the forest or something. The curtain fabrics as you can see are animal prints with brick walls left like that and all kinds of plants and pots on either sides.

Then going further going down in the lobby I saw this little bar with a contemporary bar table but the antique cellar made out of bronze and in a weird circular shape. Well it was getting more and more interesting with every step.

When I saw this kind of illusionistic corridor with an never ending passage because of the mirror effect right in from of me. But even more than that what catches my eye was the wooden pellet on the ceilings and the color of the chairs that are going perfectly to make this place to be called as a ZOO hotel.
